For our visitors that intend on staying for a few days longer and for those who don't find relaxation by the pool, we offer a variety of activities.
Hiking
The farm area is surrounded by the high mountains of the Rooirand and the Tiras Mountains. Due to heavy weathering of the granitic dark red rocks, amazing rock sculptures have been created in the area of Old Tiras. Some petroglyphs as well as finds of artifacts such as stone tools, rubbing stones and pottery shards bear witness to the early history of the Bushmen in this area. Some worthwhile viewpoints can easily be reached on foot. Experienced hikers and climbers may (at their own risk) also enjoy breathtaking panoramic views from higher altitudes.

Guided Walks & Farm Drives
Experience the natural surroundings of our farm through guided walks and farm drives. Here, on the edge of the Namib Desert, you will find numerous plants that are adapted to the extremely dry climate in various ways. The flora includes the famous quiver tree and succulents like various aloe's, hoodia and sarcocaulon.
With a little luck one can see Oryx Antelopes, Kudu, Springbok, Klipspringer, Bat-eared Fox, Cape Fox, Jackal, Hare, different species of reptiles, Rock Eagles, Black-breasted Snake Eagles, Pale Chanting Goshawk, Wild Horses and more.

Wild Horse Excursions
A special and unique occurrence in this area is the Namib Desert Horse - the most isolated horse population in the world.
There are many theories about their origin, but the most likely ancestors are riding and cavalry horses, many of german breeding, released from farms and military camps in the midst of the first World War.
Subject of many studies about their adaptability and their ability to survive extreme conditions, the Namib Wild Horse continues to captivate.
Please note: wild horses are similar to any other wildlife, which means that a sighting is not always guaranteed.
